Integrity Realty & Management is proud to announce that after many, many months meeting a lengthy requirements and verification process, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs has certified us as a Veteran Owned Small Business (VOSB). This process involved multiple stages each with multiple steps.

Basic Requirements

In order to qualify as a veteran owner business, the business must meet the following requirements:

Veteran Status

 

The Veteran business owner must meet the definition of a Veteran as established in Title 38 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Part 74. Additionally, the veteran must have received an honorable discharge or any other discharge status other than dishonorable.

Ownership

An ownership stake of 51% or more must be directly and unconditionally vested in the veteran business owner.

Control

The veteran owner must have full control of the day-to-day operations of the business. This includes managing personnel, setting the strategic direction of the company, and have all decision making authority. Additionally, the veteran owner must be employed full time by the business and hold the highest position in the company.
After our application was submitted to the Department of Veteran’s Affairs, it entered into a pre-qualification stage where it was evaluated by on it’s face to ensure we met the basic requirements. After passing this review, we received a 6 page list of required documents that would be used to verify the legitimacy of our company, the veteran status of our owner, our operations, our licensing, corporate status, office lease, tax filings, and many other aspects of our business.
Every document provided brought a request for more documents and letters of explanation answering questions from the reviewer. While this process seemed daunting, it was encouraging to know that the government does not give this certification out lightly.
In the end, it was worth it. We received this letter below confirming that the verification process was complete and that the Department of Veteran’s Affairs had certified Integrity Realty & Management as a Veteran Owned Small Business (VOSB).
